Why
would an enterprise choose ECS for a CAD/CAFM solution?
Typically, an enterprise will use ECS CAD/CAFM solutions
to assist them in better managing employee and space
churn, acquisition and divestment of space, and to generate
reports from the database to enable analysis of costs
associated with space utilization by profit centers
or departments. Since 1976, ECS management and staff
have delivered high-quality, value-added services involving
hundreds of millions of gross square feet of facilities.

I
would like to have my facilities on CAD, but I don't
have the resources. How can ECS help me?
ECS can develop your "as-built" plans and
host them on ECS' servers. We can plot hard copy drawings
for you when you need them. You simply have to "mark
them up" to reflect changes or modifications that
you or your contractors make and send them back to ECS
and we will update the record drawing for you... From
our servers we can email copies (or send diskettes or
CD's) to the destinations of your choice (i.e. outside
contractors, consulting architects, potential bidders,
etc.). ECS keeps all client data strictly confidential
and operates under "Secret Clearance" granted
by the Defense Security Service.

How
can ECS help me manage my employee and space churn?
CAFM databases can be developed to drill down to the
employee and workstation level and be subgrouped into
departmental or functional categories. The detailed
level of information available from these databases
enable management to quickly determine how existing
space is utilized and what space may be available for
expansion, contraction, build-outs, and how the available
spaces are supported by core and shared components such
as HVAC, Network cabling, existing workstations, etc.

We
have an existing floor plans and drawings, but they
are all hard copy. How difficult is it to convert to
a digital CAFM format?
ECS currently has expertise in most of the popular
CAFM systems in use today. We don't sell the CAFM software
itself, but we can scan your drawings and digitize them
for use in the CAFM package you eventually select as
the best one for you. Those drawings can then be easily
attached or imported into the particular application
you choose.

What
if my drawings are a bit out of date?
This situation is fairly common. Over the last 20+
years, response to dynamic changes in business climate
has created environment where there is a significant
amount of "undocumented change". ECS' particular
expertise in Field Verification enables us to dispatch
teams of professionals to various customer locations
around the US where we can survey your current condition,
mark up existing drawings, document Field Notes on the
changes, and then modify or create digital drawings
to provide you with an up-to-date representation of
your portfolio.

We
already have a Facility Management department that has
"in-house" drafting personnel. How is ECS
of value to me?
ECS is a perfect compliment to provide drafting and/or
field verification support to "in-house" resources.
Because we have capabilities in most of the major applications
used by FM today, we are a source to turn to for "peak"
or "unscheduled" demand for capacity. Because
of our flexible CUSTOMer approach we can generate the
highest quality output, using YOUR STANDARDS and YOUR
SYMBOLOGY. You can "turn us on when you need us,
and turn us off when you don't".

Our
company has an existing relationship with an Architect.
How would ECS add value in that relationship?
ECS is not an architectural or engineering design firm.
Although we work directly with Facility and Property
owners and managers, ECS also works with many architects
and engineers who will arrange for ECS to perform site
visits and execute Field Verifications on their behalf.
ECS understands the nature of the creative and consultative
relationship shared by an architectural or engineering
firm and their clients, and can work with all parties
with the architectural or engineering firm as the project
manager, or subcontract to the architectural or engineering
firm, as required.

What
else does ECS do?
CAD/CAFM and the Field Verification process represents
ECS' core competency. The services surrounding CAD/CAFM
and Field Verification are our sole business focus!
Unlike some other firms, we do not consider this important
mission an "added service" or a "part
time" capability but focus all of our energies
on providing current state-of-the-art technology and
professional skills to meet the needs of our customers.
All of our work is done "In-House" (or at
your location) by professional staff who are employees
of ECS.
